Week 1 (April 9th)
Passing & Ball Control
Setting / Reacting to ball movement
Proper serving technique (underhand and/or overhand)
Spiking (proper approach, snapping the wrist, arm extension and follow through)
Week 2 (April 23rd)
Defense/Serve Receive (explanation of different defense positions)
Diving and Rolling Drills
Setting, including set to target
Hitting, develop hit direction of the ball with proper swing techniques
Serving (underhand, overhand, introduction to Jump Serve)
Week 3 (April 30th)
Setting - introduction to back set & set back row
Hitting - learn outside, middle, back and back row approaches
Blocking fundamentals
Serving – Advanced explanation of Jump Serve
Week 4 (May 7th)
Bumping & Digging – ball control and defense against spiked balls
Front Row Attack (setting will be incorporated as well as defense)
Net Play including Blocking, Dinking and Recovering Balls off the Net
Week 5 (May 14th)
Emphasis on Court and Game strategy
Review of Court Positions
Rotation & Setter options
Scrimmage
Week 6 (May 21st)
Review of previous five weeks
Scrimmage under game conditions, with referee
